2 Hours Until Poll Close!
With two hours remaining, it appears as though Trinidad & Tobago is showing out, with reports of regular to high voter turnout across the constituencies! Remember, if you're in line before 6pm - stay in line - you WILL be allowed to vote!
Reports that someone was arrested on suspicion of bribery
As reported by CNC3, a man with $30,000 in his possession has been arrested in the Aranguez/St. Joseph constituency, after reports that he was offering money for votes. We've been getting reports akin to this behavior as well across constituencies from both major political parties.
Reports of irregularities across polling stations by the UNC; PNM
The two major parties has reported several instances of irregularities across polling stations, from long voting lines due to inefficient processes to alleged Election Day canvassing.
High Early Morning Voter Turnout
Goes without saying, 2020 was a COVID year, which naturally led to reduced voter turnout, especially for vulnerable populations. However, 2025 early voting reports all signal, at the very least, a reversion to normal voter turnout, to possibly higher than usual voter turnout. Reports across all constituencies indicate long lines, but a quick and overall smooth voting process. No reports of incidents so far
Special Police Presence
The CoP reports that over 2000 police officers will be out and about today to ensure a safe and smooth electoral process
Reports of steady early voter turnout
There are reports of steady voter turnout across several constituencies, with polls opening just around 11 minutes ago.
And just like that, polls are open!
And just like that, after a few short weeks of intense campaigning, the polls are open! Polls open at 6:00AM and will close at 6:00PM. Anyone in line at 6:00PM will be allowed to vote, but the earlier the better! Remember, you don't need your poll card, and you can go with any form of ID (but National ID is easiest for the fastest process). Happy Election Day Everyone!
Special Electors
Forgot to add — special electors voted from Monday last week all the way through yesterday. Over 16,000 special electors were approved, and this population typically has higher voter turnout (due to the application process and intentionality behind it), so we estimate at least 10K votes are already in. No official numbers from the EBC yet though.
